| It's
towards the end of World War II and in a German prison
camp, boxing trainer, Max the Cigar, makes the discovery
of his career... Fellow inmate, Stan Vandeville, harbours
untapped, raw talent - talent that could go a very
long way indeed in the boxing ring. But the road to
success is beset with adversity. Surrounded by greed
and corruption, Stan must rely on his own wits to
survive in the murky world of rigged fights and unscrupulous
bookmakers. It's a test of will as success in the
ring brings temptation into a life of loose women
and alcohol. |
